Ripe blackberry and blood orange open into white pepper, truffle and grilled bread. The 2016 La Sangre combines Syrah with a small Viognier component from Jonata's Ballard Canyon estate. It matures in new and previously used French oak, building breadth while retaining pepper, fruit and supple structure.

La Sangre is Jonata's Syrah-led estate bottling, distinct from the Cabernet-focused El Desafio and the property's multi-variety blends. Sandy Ballard Canyon soils and the Viognier accent give power with aromatic lift.
