Pinot Noir from Monthélie Premier Cru Les Riottes is partly fermented with whole bunches using native yeast, then raised in larger-format oak with limited new wood. This restrained handling protects the site's perfume and fine structure.

WHY IT IS DIFFERENT
This small red-wine cuvée shows a less familiar side of a producer known chiefly for white Burgundy. Les Riottes offers a site-specific Monthélie expression rather than a generic red addition to the range.
